My jealousy of tinker bell began early

The first time I saw her I felt rightfully

Dazzled by this lemon yellow fairy with attitude and gold in abundance,

she had proof that everyone believed in her.

Soft palms, old ones, hard ones, coming together for the expressed purpose of giving her life

Declaring their belief in her little lemon zest glitter pieces, and begrudging magic power (when human girls were involved). I was enthralled.

I would wish to hear: "I do believe in Victoria, I do! I do!"

I did not say this then.

It is difficult to say it now.

But i heard it. Clear as the window in my room that I cannot open

I do believe in Victoria.

I do.

I do.
